If you want to name your wine CHIANTI, you have to make it here, in the Chianti region.
That is one of the many strict requirements wine has to meet to be awarded a Chianti certification. Some of the others are:
- wine color (only a red can be certified Chianti)
- composition of grapes (mainly Sangiovese – the local grape),
- aging duration (to ensure long duration, naturally)
- alcoholic percentage (also ensures longer duration and is provided by naturally sweet grapes, as no sugar or alcohol can be added)
- percentage of sulfites. (the lowest worldwide: Hence, no headache!)
Our private label AT red meets them all, but we get it BEFORE it is certified and labelled (quite an expensive step), so we can get and share high quality at a lower price.

However, there are many more wines produced in this beautiful wine country that don’t become “Chianti”.
One is definitely our favorite pink bubble BACIAMI, made with Mammolo grapes.
Then there is Barbì, produced by the same winemaker as our private label Chianti: it is a white full of personality and strength, made with 100% Incrocio Manzoni, a very resistant crossbreed of Riesling and Pino Bianco, created in the early ’30’s by dottor Manzoni.
