BACIAMI Tuscan Rescue Box
If you know 5 words in Italian, one should be “BACIAMI!”: (“Kiss me!”).
Please learn it to let everyone in Italy know you have been vaccinated.
You know we like to share the products we love, produced by people we love.
This year we got our hands on BACIAMI, our favorite pink bubble, so we have “contaminated” our 6-pack of private label Sangiovese red, with 3 Baciami.
Made of a 100% Mammolo grapes (in Italian, Mammola is the violet pansy; Mammolo is the Italian name for Bashful, the timid Snowhite’s dwarf) and its varietal dates back to the late 1600’s. It is a dark grape with a violet fragrance.
Again, I have never gotten a head-ache from drinking this one.
Our good friend Francesco who actually is in the textile business, has inherited this wonderful, limited production vineyard.
We take advantage, when we can…
SANGIOVESE PRIVATE LABEL RED (our staple: never run out!)
Made of a variation of 80%-100% Sangiovese grapes, (the very Tuscan grapes, the last ones to be harvested. They like to take their sweet time: totally Italian style!).
Connections are everything! A famous designer brand whose name we are not allowed to disclose (expensive classic Italian mocassins) produces this and other high quality wines in very small batches, for the family. Thanks to a great friend who works at the winery, we are granted privileged access to this delicious product.
The Chianti Commission will issue the official certification for this wine in late fall. In the meantime, we have put our hands on a small batch of it “as is”. What does that mean? That it’s Superior wine at an affordable price! We have decided to pass on this advantage to our guests, so the cost per bottle is still 11€, (10€ for purchases of 12 and up).
Great catch! And NO head-ache, thanks to the lowest content of sulfates in the world.
