As native Italians, we know all too well that there is no part-time when it comes to food and wine…
Seeing the non-touristy side of the Chianti countryside, enjoying wine at a privately owned 600-acre winery and sitting at a kitchen table in a historical private home, explains more about the essence of Italian style than any book, TV show, crash course.
What our countryside means to every Florentine is culture, history, nature, food, wine, beauty; all together. Please let us help you make the most of it with our most popular version of the cooking class: WINE&COOK…
But if you really only have half day to spend as an Accidental Tourist, you can go straight to our cooking class:
We’ll pick you up in Florence at 1:00PM (unless otherwise agreed). In about 30 minutes, we will arrive to destination: the setting will be a private historical home in the countryside (an 870-year old villa on the hills over Florence, where we’ll learn how to make homemade pasta from scratch like you’ve never had before: NATURALLY low gluten, low cal, low carb, and yet more nutritious and satisfying)
(It’s a hands-on lesson, you don’t just watch a chef do all the work …).
The tour will end up with a plentiful home-cooked lunch, with unlimited wine, coffee and homemade dessert included.
After lunch, plenty of time to chat at the table while having espresso the Italian way, while we exchange addresses and suggestions with our new friends.
We recommend it to everybody, (children love making angel-hair pasta!), as a fun, weatherproof way to learn a delicious and easy Italian meal and to enjoy an afternoon in the countryside.
Make your lunch and eat it, too!
Majla, I hope this note finds you well. As I look through old photos & reflect on this year, I realize that our day with you may have been our best. It was beyond doubt the most meaningful to our daughter, Helen, about to leave for university. In a summer of tumult, she was so calm in your kitchen. So present, so taken by the kindness. She loved working with her hands. I think something shifted in her brain, or maybe her heart. When we left, she said to me on the walk home, “Steve is the happiest person I’ve ever met – She realized – he had designed his life. Lived as he wanted to live: fully, with richness, beauty, and kindness.” She saw a carpet of options unrolling before her. Her life would no longer be a box.
Finally, thank you for all you do to make this world a more beautiful place. If you ever feel it goes unnoticed, it does not. Your fingerprints are all over my child.
